Why this work exists | Who it's for
I didn’t begin Inscribe the Word because I was good at reading the Bible.
I began because I wasn’t.
In 2016, I found myself in a season where hope felt out of reach. Though I had grown up in the church and spent years serving in ministry, reading Scripture was never easy for me. I would get distracted or bored. I didn’t know where to start. I wanted to love God’s Word, but I struggled to keep going.
But I did love pens, pencils, paper, and journals.
There was something about putting pen to paper that felt grounding.
So one day, I opened a Strong’s Concordance and looked up the word hope. I began finding the passages it listed and writing them out by hand—not simply a single verse, but enough of the surrounding passage to understand what I was reading.
And slowly, something began to change.
Writing slowed me down.
Slowing down made me curious.
And curiosity made me want to know more about God—His character, His heart, and the story He was writing in my own life.
I began to understand Jeremiah 29:13 in a personal way: when we seek Him with our whole heart, He lets Himself be found. That promise is for you, too.
That simple practice was the seed that grew into Inscribe the Word.
At the same time, I was looking for a way to help support my family. I started creating the Scripture-writing plans I was already using for myself and sharing them online, hoping that one day I could create journals and other resources to encourage others.
I posted the plans on Pinterest.
And people found them.
What began quietly in my own difficult season traveled far beyond anything I expected. Over the years, people around the world began using Inscribe the Word plans to slow down, write Scripture, and spend time in God’s Word. Today, visitors still come to Inscribe the Word from nearly every part of the world.
The heart of the work has never changed.
Inscribe the Word creates thoughtful Scripture-writing plans, journals, and reflections to help people who want to spend time in Scripture but sometimes don’t know where to begin—or struggle to remain consistent.
Because writing Scripture is not the end goal.
The goal is to know God.
As we begin to know Him in His Word, we start to see His presence everywhere—in our stories, our relationships, our suffering, music, art, beauty, creation, and the ordinary places of our lives.
That is what Inscribe the Word is about.
Writing His Word.
